Is your life complementary to his way?

Isaiah 5:28

I decided, instead of commenting on what someone else said on the web, that I would use my Sunday blog to help better my own Bible study.  This may also give my readers a little refresher course or words of inspiration.  Today, I opened the Bible and Dave picked the verse. So today we will take a look at Isaiah 5.

In the most basic summation it is about the consequences of Judah’s worship of other gods.

The people of Judah think they are safe and can do what they will, because of their covenant with God. God tells Isaiah, to let his people know that the covenant only works if they have followed Gods way. When they commited idolatry (the worship of other gods) and where unjust and cruel they broke the covenant. By doing this they lost God’s Favor.

I see it this way. God gives you the ability to live a life that, through him allows you to accomplish your goals and dreams. If you do not live a life that is complementary to his way, then your life is no longer directed by his goodness. This opens you up for all types of unholy spirits and circumstances to come into your life. You may prosper for a certain amount of time but ultimately you will have to answer for not living your life in the spirit of God.
