Very Bad Day for the dude in the back of a Cobb County police car.
Monday, June 28, 2010 at 12:29AM I am a big believer in life lessons. I think we go through trials in life to develop our sprits to become closer to God. The lessons do not have to necessarily be trials but a quick education from someone simply making an observation. A few days ago I saw an older gentleman who had had a few to many drinks and it turned ugly for him. He was cuffed in the back of a Cobb County police car barely able to keep his head up. I sent a text to a friend and described the situation. I felt sorry for him but did make it into a joke, when describing the situation. My friend said yea, poor guy but also reminded me that it could happen to any of us and that I should say a prayer for him.
I try hard to give everyone I come across the respect they deserve as my spiritual brother and sister, as we all come from God. In this case because it was from a distance I judged this guy and really did not think about him as the individual going through some ruff shit.
Positive thoughts and prayers are very strong tools we have that can make peoples lives better. Negative thoughts are not good for us or the people we direct their way. I hope that next time I am compelled to show compassion first.
